WALDO COUNTY
HUMANE SOCIETY
SPEAKING
FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT SPEAK
FOR THEMSELVES

Welcome to the Waldo County Humane Society Web Site. Please take the time to view each of our web pages for information concerning us, and our goals.
Each of the pictures on this page are of
animals that have been adopted or rescued. They all have wonderful loving homes.
If you ever find yourself looking for a companion animal, please go to a local
shelter or rescue facility and give these animals the second chance they need. This
is a picture of Annie. She was a little stray
that showed up on the back step during the Ice Storm of 98. She was badly injured, in
shock and near death. A fast trip to the Vet and she was saved. Today she has
a wonderful home and has adopted the sofa as her place.
Buddy was a great dog that was obtained from
Brittney Rescue. he had been abandoned to the streets and Brittney Rescue took him in. He
had been neglected and it took many months of love and care to get him to trust
again. Today he has a wonderful home in the country and likes nothing better than to
go for rides in the truck.
The old dog to the left
lives in a retirement community in Florida now. His former owners found they had an
allergy to him and turned him into the local animal shelter. His name is Buster and
is approximately 9 years old. A kind older gentleman had recently lost his beloved
dog after many years and needed to have a friend around the house. The two of them
hit it off just great and now they both have contentment in their lives.
The black lab came to stay for a weekend 8
years ago and now is a permanent resident. The greyhound came from Greyhound rescue- turned in
because of a divorce in a family and needed a good home.
